Mondays: The Save Democracy Action Group continues its postcard writing campaign -- take part at 10:15 am each Monday in the Napier Common Room at Pilgrim Place. This campaign includes cards to voters nationwide, focused on the upcoming June election. Newcomers are very welcome!
Each Wednesday: Permanent Ceasefire Vigil - corner of Foothill and Indian Hill, 4:30 - 5 pm.
Every Friday: Peace Vigil - corner of Arrow Highway and Indian Hill - 3:30 to 4:30 pm, and at Pilgrim Place in the Octagonal Garden from 4 - 4:30 pm.
Wednesday, May 6, 3 pm, virtual event: Building Organizing Community, One Conversation at a Time, presented by Third Act and featuring Bill McKibben. This workshop is focused on starting where we are and learning how to talk to our friends, neighbors, relatives and colleagues about making a tangible difference in our climate and democracy work. Questions to be addressed include, "Why is it so difficulat to get people engaged sometimes?" and, "How can we support conversation that allows each person to feel heard?" Sunday, May 17, 6 pm, Hillcrest: Seeds of Hope, an Interfaith Dialogue Between Friends. Ahmed Soboh and Paul Buch met 20 years ago while participating in an innovative effort to model interfaith relationships grounded in mutual respect and understanding, particularly around the complexities of Israel and Palestine. Committed to dialogue, they chose to collaborate on programs that demonstrated how much can unite communities, even across deep divides. Soheila Azizi, who has spent decades as a mediator and advocate for peace-building, joins them in this important conversation.
Tuesday, June 2, 3 pm, Decker, SSAFE quarterly meeting where we will present a prioritized sustainability plan with emerging plans for implementation SSAFE is an acronym for Senior Stewards for the Environment.
Thursday, June 11, 10:30 am, Napier Common Room: Justice Groups . quarterly meeting, to discuss results of April 29 visioning and plan next steps for the year ahead.
