SAVE THE DATE, Saturday, August 1, 3 pm, La Verne Church of the Brethren: Songs & Stories of Solidarity, Sponsored by the Pomona Valley Spiritual Leaders for Justice. All ages are invited to this time of music, storytelling, and solidarity as we listen to those impacted by immigration enforcement and culminate in a walk with songs of support, love, and justice. A special collection will be received for the Adelanto Detention Center Commissary Fund, helping detainees purchase necessities and stay connected with loved ones. Please see flyer below, and save the date to stand in solidarity with us!

AND STARTING IN SEPTEMBER, our FOSNA friends will lead a group read of the book, AN AMERICAN ISRAEL, by Amy Kaplan. The book contains a history of the bond between the US and Israel that traces the entanglement with America’s belief in its own exceptionalist story/nature, and sheds light on the profound and difficult challenges for Americans posed by the State of Israel's political realties. If you are interested in taking part, you may wish to start reading over the summer, as the book spans the period from WWII to now. Four meetings will be held to discuss the book, starting September 7, and continuing every other week (September 21, October 5 and October 21). Contact Lynn R. with interest or for additional information.

Please contact Sid M. or Jani M. with justice-related news from groups that you're involved in -- we'd be very happy to share more here!
