Dozens of Pilgrim Place residents and signs were present at the recent No Kings Rally, March 28, 2026

Mondays: The Save Democracy Action Group continues its postcard writing campaign -- take part at 10:15 am each Monday in the Napier Common Room at Pilgrim Place. This campaign includes cards to voters nationwide. Newcomers are very welcome!

Each Wednesday: Permanent Ceasefire Vigil - corner of Foothill and Indian Hill. PLEASE NOTE NEW, WARMER WEATHER TIME will be 4:30 - 5 pm.

Every Friday: Peace Vigil - corner of Arrow Highway and Indian Hill - 3:30 to 4:30 pm, and at Pilgrim Place in the Octagonal Garden from 4 - 4:30 pm.

Wednesday, April 8, 10:30 am, Decker: Current Affairs Forum. Action Update from Third Act's Southern California Chapter leaders. Third Act is a national organization of seniors over the age of 60 focused on protecting democracy and the environment.

Saturday, April 11: 10 am to 3 pm, San Gabriel Mission: Native Market, featuring and benefitting local members the Tongva people, along with other small businesses and native vendors. Additional details are available here.

Saturday, April 11: 5 pm, Decker: Napier Initiative Celebration. 16th annual awards ceremony to acknowledge our intergenerational Napier Fellows from the Claremont Colleges, along with Napier Initiative supporters and leadership. This event highlights the inspiring work that new and past Napier Fellows are doing in many parts of the world to support peace, justice, and care for the earth. Reception follows. Reservations are requested -- please register here to confirm your attendance.

Monday, April 13, 3 - 4:30 pm, Napier Common Room:  FOSNA ( Friends of Sabeel North America) monthly meeting. Sabeel is an international peace movement initiated by Palestinian Christians who seek a just peace. FOSNA at Pilgrim Place organizes the Wednesday weekly Ceasefire Vigil, and seeks to raise awareness and action around the ongoing combat affecting Palestine.

Saturday, April 18, 12 Noon - 4 pm, Memorial Park: Claremont LGBTQ+ Pride Festival. Throughout the world, Pride Festivals welcome everyone committed to LGBTQ+ human rights, so YOU are invited…indeed urged…to attend in this time when LGBTQ+ rights are under attack by our U.S. government. Natalie S., Nan F. and the Pilgrim Place Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Advisory Team are taking leadership to ensure we are represented at the Pride Festival. Please contact them for more information. Monday, April 20: 3 - 4:30 pm, Greenhouse Garden: Open House, welcoming all to this renewing space within our Pilgrim Place campus, with earth-friendly music from DJ MOR Love & Joy (Margo O-R).

Monday, April 20: 7 pm, Decker: Earth Week Presentation, Part 1. "The Past: Previous Sustainability Efforts at Pilgrim Place."

Tuesday, April 21: 3 - 4 pm, Decker Patio: The Fruit of Our Trees. Tasting, tour, and tales from our Pilgrim Place fruit pickers and sellers.

Tuesday, April 21: 7 pm, Decker: Earth Week Presentation, Part 2. "The Present: Sustainability Planning in Progress at Pilgrim Place."

Wednesday, April 22: 9 - 10:30 am, Dean's Garden: Show and Tell, featuring our staff gardener-in-chief, Shelly A., and residents Alan D. and Stan M.

Wednesday, April 22: 7 pm, Decker: Earth Week Presentation, Part 3. "The Future: Where We Might Go ... Learning from Rose Villa."

Thursday, April 20: 7 pm, Decker: Gathering -- "Spirits of Beauty in Nature: Personal Reflections" from residents Gwyn K. and Margo O-R.
